So Happy

Kayci has gymnastics camp every day this weeks, and so far that means Noble and I have some errand time and then play for a while until it's time to pick her up. It's been fun for all of us! Today we went to Noble's favorite place on earth (malmart!) and I saw a pencil pouch and some pens that I knew she'd love. We bought them to surprise her, and Noble decided that it would be HIS surprise. He took a nap when we got home (which was the plan, as we had a 2:00 funeral to attend and I wanted him groggy, worked like a charm!) and as soon as he got up, he wanted to give Kayci her "ting."--"make Kayci so appy!" (He cuts off all of his /h/s right now...spankings urt, if you haven't heard that one.) It made ME so happy that he cared so much about making HER happy, and I hope that is a recurring theme in their childhoods. We're all on the same team here, and that's so important.

I hope you're appy tonight, too. We had a great day around here, funeral and all.

Allergic to Shots

That was Bitty's reaction to my choosing a shot to speed up my recovery from tonsillitis. She tried to talk me out of the shot, but I'm ready to feel better. And we're off...

Ice Cream!

This is our 500th post...how fun!

Yesterday evening we got a phone call from Lauren Parker, asking if she could come by and drop something off. As we usually trade boy clothes, I figured she'd just been cleaning out a closet or something and had something to pass on. Nope!

Apparently, yesterday was Ice Cream Day and I had no idea. Lauren, the kids and Grammy made these gorgeous cookies and wanted to share some with us. How awesome is that? Thanks, Parkers, for thinking of us!

Here's to a great day-after-Ice Cream Day for all of us!

What's Up?

Kayci and her new treehouse-in-progress, that's what's up! While Noble naps, Daddy is finishing the platform...and guess who got to go up for the very first time and practice her hammer skills? (Hint: it was NOT me...I'm working. Really.)

Rookys

Rookys from James Pharaon on Vimeo.

When the cousins get together, they enjoy making a short film just for fun! Their latest, "Rookys," is the first written completely by the Clarkson and Pharaon kids. Enjoy!

file under random...

I found a note to myself this morning and thought I'd blog about it so it enters our family record.

The note is dated 6/25 (a week after Kayci's birthday). We were in Houston, and for some reason I said, "I have a surprise for Kayci...and for Noble, too!" Noble said, "A pwise? It baby effant (elephant)." It struck me as funny because he was so nonchalant about it. Well, my surprise wasn't a baby elephant. I forget what it was now, but the whole time surrounding Kayci's birthday if you'd ask Noble what he was getting Kayci for her birthday, he'd say "baby effant." He didn't get her one for her birthday...but on the 25th, after the whole surprise baby elephant conversation, he did find one at Texas Art and buy it for her. And promptly took it away and kept it for himself.

Told you it was random. As we prepare for our annual Circus trek next week, I'm excited to see what Noble thinks about the REAL baby elephants. And not so baby lions and tigers... :)

Crabtastic!

BlueBell :)

The Nguyens & Sandovals came to Brenham today! We had lunch at the airport (thanks, TJ!) and then we did the BlueBell tour. What fun!

I don't care what you say, I love Martha Stewart stuff...look what I read about this morning! I wasn't going to share and make you all wonder why my pictures are so much cooler than yours, but then I felt guilty. So go download it, iPhone users!!

That's What You Get...

...when you hand Noble a bowl of eggshells and ask him to throw them away.

We realized a few months ago this was happening--but not before, unfortunately, he threw away a good quarter of our wedding silverware. Now we watch him a lot more closely when he takes care of his dishes after meals.

This morning the kids wanted breakfast tacos, so Noble of course helped me make the eggs. He really loves to cook, which is so much like Bitty at this age. Grandpa had her up on the counter breaking eggs and cooking before her 2nd birthday, I think. :) James is so good about cooking with the kids, and he helps me remember to involve them, too. Now that Noble cooks all the time with Daddy, though, he usually won't let you in the kitchen without his help!

It's a great day here...everyone's up and playing, kids are happy and looking forward to wherever the day takes us. I love having Ronny's kids here--NOW it feels like summer!

(And for those of you who know about my OCD tendencies...after I pulled the bowl out of the trash, I also pulled out the Capri Sun wrapper and plastic tub for recycling. I just couldn't NOT do it!)

Stranded at the drive in

So, James had a great idea--let's go to the drive-in! We did. James lasted 30 minutes, Kayci over an hour, and Noble finally gave in to peer pressure. Ah, decisions, decisions...do I wake my Boy up to drive home now, or enjoy the next feature? Hmm...

Dear Tyler,

We had so much fun meeting your family!

You guys are just as awesome as I imagined...nope, even more awesome. Your Mommy's baking was totally blogworthy!

Please tell your Mommy I feel 100% better today, and please tell your Daddy I don't blame the Varsity for my bad choices. :)

Ducky Bear has already been unpacked, played with, and put away. Do you see him in this picture?

Oh, I almost forgot! We went to the store today, and I remembered your advice. Sure enough, the Oxiclean took all of the red Gatorade out of my bag. Whew! What a relief!

Just to be sure, I bought a plan b, but I didn't even need it. Thus time...

It sure is good to be back home...

...and sleep in our own beds.

I hope you guys have a sunny weekend (give your Mommy a birthday hug from us!).

Talk soon,

Love,
Me :)
