Black History Program

Today Kayci gave the welcome remarks at the Krause Elementary Black History program. After a whole month of rehearsing and preparation (she didn't need it- she memorized the speech in less than an hour) she took to the stage and gave her speech perfectly!

She also presented the doll she made of a famous black American for a class project. She chose Thurgood Marshall, the first black Supreme Court Justice. And in addition, she and her friend, Jenna, had a special surprise. They had made a doll of Mrs. Dixon, their math and science teacher.

She did a great job, and we're so proud of our Kayci! Here are some photos from the program. You can see the entire Flickr set here.

That Girl!

Kayci had to do a project on a famous African-American, and she chose Thurgood Marshall (hooray!). This is her "doll" and report...which she typed on her typewriter because that's what Justice Marshall would do. Oh, that girl--I just love her!

On Friday, February 25th at 1:30, Kayci will recite the opening for Krause's Black History program. You're invited!

A Day Late...

Hope you felt the love yesterday...we sure did!!  :)

Fundraiser...

You know how we feel about fundraisers, but Kayci is really into this one for some reason.  So, here it is:  Kayci's school has a fundraiser through 2/22.  If you are interested, you can go to this link:

www.joecorbi.com

And enter this information:
Online Group Code: 70KRAEBT

And Kayci will get credit for the sale.

No pressure at all, but if you are one of those families who likes the cookie dough, here's a chance to get some.  :)

Thanks!

Snow Day!

We only got a light dusting of snow, but in Brenham, Texas, snow is snow! The whole town shut down and we had a snow day - until the sun came out mid-day and melted everything, that is...

But we enjoyed the snow while it lasted!
